Opskumning (Foaming)

Since 1990 the plastics industry has been searching for ways to eliminate the use of environmentally hazardous substances from foam manufacturing processes. The use of CO₂2₂as a blowing agent then began to appear interesting. As CO2₂₂₂is produced by recovery, it does not affect the environment and is an ideal solution for replacing CFC and similar substances in foaming. In a CO₂-based foaming process, all chemical components and additives, including the CO₂, are mixed under sufficient pressure to keep the carbon dioxide fully dissolved in the liquid reactants.
